Karyn and Evan have always been passionate about travelling the world. Now with their two little boys — Gabe and Leo — they want to share with them the wonders of this world.
Coming from the USA they’ve chosen Portugal as their summer adventure. Before coming to Lisbon they explored the beauties of Azores by immersing themselves in all it’s nature and beauty.
Now that they’ve arrived in the mainland it was time to explore the capital: Lisbon.
When Karyn first reached out to me I immediately wanted to know more about them: who are they as a family? What ages had the kids? What did they envisioned? This always helps me guide my families through the entire experience. With that information, considering the tourism high season, the extreme hot weather and the fact that both Gabe and Leo were under 4 years old, I recommended some locations but emphasizing Belém.
Belém is a great option for everyone looking to have a photoshoot in Lisbon but even more for families with small kids. Not only it is beautiful, full of history and gathering several landmarks within the same area, but it is also an open area which means more space for kids to run around and have fun. It is also way less crowded than Lisbon downtown which is yet another great thing to consider when kids are involved (less people = more safety and space to play). As it is so close to the river it is also cooler and provides the most beautiful sunset of Lisbon by the 25 de Abril bridge. All in all, it’s the perfect location for those who want to enjoy Lisbon without the crowds.
We met by the Jerónimos Monastery and from there we roamed around until Tower of Belém.
There were time to run, play and also slow down and just be present in the moment. Pastel de Nata were also present as a little snack and by the end of the session I invited Karyn and Evan to share a moment of their own while Fernando (my assistant) entertained the kids so mom and dad could be a little bit alone — after all, they are the core of the family and it is important to celebrate and honor that.
In the end the sun kissed them goodbye with an astonishing sunset.
Are you ready to book your very own Lisbon family photoshoot?
Thank you Millers. It was an absolute honor to witness your family’s bond and love. May you keep wandering around the world as a family ‘till the end of times!
With love,
Patrícia
